Are we living what we are preaching? 

      I hear my Pastor tell us all the time, "I'd rather be a sermon than preach a sermon any day". Although I understood what she meant, it took me awhile to actually incorporate what she meant. As disciples we hold the unique and prestigious role of leading people to Jesus Christ. In order to lead anyone anywhere, they have to trust you and the only way to be trusted as an ambassador for Christ is to live what you preach. In the Gospel Rap genre, it is very difficult to know if your favorite gospel rapper is living all of that rah rah, flame spitting, beat the devil up that they so eloquently deposited into their songs. The only time we can check their pedigree is when we see them in person at a church or at a concert, but then they may possibly have their "church costume" on. The true test is how we live when we leave the church, are we faithful to our husbands and wives? Are we taking care of our children? Are we loving our brother's that we see daily? These are the things that we can't sometimes see from the outside, however God see's it and he is mandating that we meet his specifications in order to preach his word. Now none of us are perfect, so I'm not saying we have to be a perfect people, we will never be that, however, we must live our lives according to scripture and we must mortify our members (Colossians 3:5).  So, it is imperative that before we start preaching the Word, we must first live the Word and become students of the scriptures.
